Yes, it is true. Sagan died Dec. 20th in Seattle, Washington. He had
been fighting bone marrow cancer for the last several years. He was
with his family when pneumonia finally finished him. I had read an
account of his fight against his illness some time ago, it was stirring
and courageous.
There are several web sites devoted to Sagan right now. The Dawkins
site has a good link.
